Transportation Assistant (Dispatcher)

Incumbent reports directly to the Mobility Manager in HAS. This position acts as primary contact for Veterans requiring transportation. The incumbent collaborates with Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation and ongoing operational flow of the program. Three major areas of responsibility:
1) Scheduling, Data Collection, & Tracking Support; 2) Consult Management; and 3) Program Support responsibilities. Daily responsibilities include collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information. Coordinates service practices that decrease waits and delays for patients. Plans consult processing flow to ensure Veterans receive consultation services timely. Assists the Mobility Manager in planning and directing programs and activities that support the mission of the program. This summary is not all inclusive and requires other duties as assigned. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Assisting higher level management with workload, forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement; work that requires detailed data input; providing good customer service; interpreting rules, regulations, and policies; ability to work within a variety of software programs; and ability to follow up on action items. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

Physical Requirements:
The work is sedentary. Some work may require movement between offices, hospitals, warehouses, and similar areas for meetings and to conduct work. Work may also require walking/standing, in conjunctions with travel to and attendance at meetings and/or conferences away from the work site. Incumbent may carry and lift light items weighing less than 15 pounds. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
