Accounting Technician (OA)

Some of the duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs various accounting duties that includes obligating funds, processing disbursements, and performs costing functions. Analyzes source documents pertaining to funding for Medical, General Post Fund, Compensated Work Therapy, MCCR. Completes monthly review of undelivered orders to determine accrual amounts. Receives and analyzes documentation selecting the correct general ledger entries for accounting input. Prepares multiple accounting reports, journal vouchers, and expenditure transfers. Analyzes, resolves, and makes proper follow-up vendor inquiries. Independently interprets regulations and applying them on a daily basis. Work Schedule:

One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level. Specialized experience includes:
Finance experience using accounting systems; Experience with Microsoft Excel; Experience developing and maintaining records including knowledge of proper documentation; Receiving and analyzing documentation selecting the correct general ledger entries for accounting input; Experience processing bene-travel payments and using bene-travel database; Experience with various accounting duties that includes obligating funds, processing disbursements, and performs costing functions. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
